Adapted from Luke 21: 5-19 The 33rd Sunday of Ordinary Time, Year C
When some were talking about the Temple, remarking how it was adorned with fine stonework and votive offerings, Jesus said, “All these things you are staring at now – the time will come when not a single stone will be left on another: they will all have been knocked down.” And they put to him this question: “Master,” they said, “when will this happen then, and what sign will there be that this is about to take place?” “Take care not to be deceived,” he said, “because many will come using my name and saying, ‘I am he’ and ‘The time is near at hand’. Refuse to join them.” Then he said to them, “When you hear of wars and revolutions, do not be frightened. There will be wars, earthquakes, plagues and famines here and there; there will be great signs in the heavens. Before all this happens you will be shunned by all people on account of my name, but not a hair of your head will be lost. Your endurance will win you your lives.”

Remembrance Day – Horsham Carfax
On Tuesday, our school council members were honoured to attend the Remembrance Service in the Horsham Carfax. Children and staff came together with our community to pay tribute to the courage and sacrifice of those who have served and continue to serve our country. We are proud of the respect and reflection shown by all who took part.
Back at school, children attended a special remembrance assembly and produced some creative remembrance day designs.

Anti-Bullying Week
This week, our school proudly took part in Anti-Bullying Week, a national event that encourages kindness, respect, and standing up against bullying in all its forms. The week began with Odd Socks Day and our anti-bullying assembly, where children and staff wore brightly coloured, mismatched socks to celebrate what makes us all unique! It was a fun and meaningful way to remind everyone that differences should be celebrated, not judged. Throughout the week, children took part in discussions around this years theme of Power for Good, focusing on friendship, empathy, and inclusion, helping to create a school environment where everyone feels safe and valued.
On Thursday it was World Kindness Day and continued with this years theme by creating a Kindness Tree to celebrate the kindness in our school community.

Friends of St John’s
Our Christmas Fair Needs You!
Do you have a hotline into Father Christmas? If so we need your help as we would like him to attend our fair this year. We are also looking for volunteers to man your year group stalls for half an hour at a time. We need at least 8 volunteers for each year group to ensure that we do not need to close stalls early.
If you can help with either of the above, please contact your year group reps to sign up.
The jazzy jars stall is back! Please can each child bring in a jazzy jar for our stall.
Best wishes
The Friends of St John’s.
