The Seventh Sunday of Easter — John 17:1-11: THE HIGH PRIESTLY PRAYER OF JESUS
Jesus raised his eyes to heaven and said: ‘Father, the hour has come: glorify your Son so that your Son may glorify
you; and, through the power over all mankind that you have given him, let him give eternal life to all those you have entrusted to him. And eternal life is this: to know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom you have sent. I have glorified you on earth and finished the work that you gave me to do. Now, Father, it is time for you to glorify me with that glory I had with you before ever the world was. I have made your name known to the men you took from the world to give me. They were yours and you gave them to me, and they have kept your word. Now at last they know that all you have given me comes indeed from you; for I have given them the teaching you gave to me, and they have truly accepted this, that I came from you, and have believed that it was you who sent me. I pray for them; I am not praying for the world but for those you have given me, because they belong to you: all I have is yours and all you have is mine, and in them I am glorified. I am not in the world any longer, but they are in the world, and I am coming to you.’

Superstars of the Week!
YR – Asher, Cassandra, Charlotte, Jayden, Leo W W, Maria & Richard for their participation in our house group tricky word time trial this week. They demonstrated teamwork, solidarity and preferential option for the poor through supporting everyone in their team and working for the Common good. They ensured everyone had a say (subsidiarity) in improving their learning and respected the human dignity of those less able, while promoting peace as there was no conflict! They demonstrated stewardship by caring for God’s gift of each other and Miss Miles did not need to distribute justice as they all shared responsibility fairly. As a result of their hard and aspirational learning, they were able to beat their time from the previous day! They have every right to be confident in being themselves.

School updates and events
Amazing Year 6
Well done to our wonderful Year 6! They have completed their SATs this week and we could not have been prouder of how they approach it. We enjoyed breakfast together each morning which was full of giggles, flying apples and avoidance of eating crusts! They have demonstrated real confidence and maturity with each test and taken it in their strid. They have made their school, teachers, parents and each other really proud and showed that they are certainly ready for their Secondary school transitions in the not to distant future.
Marion Parade
In school on Thursday 21st May at 10.00 the school will gather together to have a celebration of Mary, the Mother of Jesus. In the Catholic tradition May is a month dedicated to Our Lady and this is our way of honouring that. We will share some thoughts and information about the rosary and then we will go outside and say the Joyful mysteries together and the Glorious mysteries. As part of the parade, we place flowers around the statue of Mary. We would like to invite each child to bring a flower into school on Thursday to help create a class floral display in celebration of Mary.
First Holy Communion Celebration
We are excited that some of our Key Stage 2 children will be making their First Holy Communion this Sunday at Church. It is a wonderful event that is shared with friends, family and the whole parish. We will be having a school Mass on Friday to celebrate together. Children are invited to bring in their First Holy Communion clothes and change into them for the Mass.
Many thanks
The friends of St Johns (PTA)
