Adapted from Matt. 4:12-23, The 3rd Sunday of Ordinary Time, Year A
Hearing that John the Baptist had been arrested, Jesus went back to Galilee and settled in Capernaum, a lakeside town. From that moment Jesus began his preaching with the message, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is close at hand.” As he was walking beside the Sea of Galilee, he saw two brothers, Simon, who was called Peter, and his brother Andrew; they were making a cast in the lake with their net, for they were fishermen. And he said to them, “Follow me and I will make you fishers of people.” And they left their nets at once and followed him. Going on from there, he saw another pair of brothers, James, son of Zebedee, and his brother John; they were in their boat with their father Zebedee, mending their nets, and he called them. At once, leaving their boat and their father, they followed him. Jesus went round the whole of Galilee teaching in their synagogues, proclaiming the Good News of the kingdom and curing all kinds of diseases and sickness among the people.

Young Voices 2026!
On Tuesday the 20th of January a group of children from across years 4, 5 and 6 attended the O2 in London for the Young Voices concert.
The children had been learning all the songs needed for the day since September in our weekly choir sessions.
It was a very long day with rehearsals during the day and then the actual performance in the evening, but the children behaved so well and were a credit to our school.
It was truly a fantastic day!
The atmosphere of the evening show was electric, the children (and adults!) sung and danced the night away in front of their parent/carers as well as a packed O2. The choir was made up of 8,994 children from many different schools.
It is such a fantastic opportunity for the children to be a part of and each year we attend it gets better and better.
Well done children for all your efforts during our choir sessions as well as on the day. I was so proud of you all.
A BIG thank you to Mrs Curtis for all her help with the choir.
Thanks also to Mrs Burke, Mrs Curtis and Mrs Farr for attending the concert with us.
Roll on next year!!!
Mrs Clough
