Adapted from Matthew 3:13-17
The Baptism of the Lord, Year A

Jesus came from Galilee to the Jordan to be baptised by John. John tried to dissuade him. “It is I who need baptism from you,” he said, “and yet you come to me!” But Jesus replied, “Leave it like this for the time being; it is fitting that we should, in this way, do all that righteousness demands.” At this, John gave in to him. As soon as Jesus was baptised he came up from the water, and suddenly the heavens opened and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and coming down on him. And a voice spoke from heaven, “This is my Son, the Beloved; my favour rests on him.”

¡Hola!

This half term our focus language is Español as we have many Spanish speakers in the school. The children will be learning how to answer the register in Spanish and maybe a few phrases and numbers too. We will be asking our Spanish Young Interpreters and any Spanish speakers to help their classes.  If any Spanish speaking parents or children would like to bring in souvenirs, photos etc to show their class, then please contact Mrs Curtis via the office. Muchas gracias!

Update on School Communication

Further to receiving feedback on the roll-out of the parent’s comms system, we are trying to streamline our process on how we communicate to parents via announcements and email style messages to make it more user-friendly. We are moving to a new approach, where all communications that are informative, but not urgent, will be sent in message format (mainly from teachers so please do monitor at your convenience). For more pressing messages, we will use announcements, which we believe sends a notification to your phone. We hope this makes the app easier to navigate and ensure you don’t miss any important updates.

  Mass and new Archbishop

We celebrated Mass on Tuesday for the Feast of the Epiphany. It was a lovely way to start the new term. The children helped to prepare the Mass, read and take part in different aspects of the celebration.

Our wonderful Bishop, Richard Moth was appointed the new Archbishop of Westminster by Pope Leo XIV on December 19th, 2025, succeeding Cardinal Vincent Nichols, who retired, with the installation scheduled for February 14, 2026, making him the leader of the Catholic Church in England and Wales. At this time of significant transition we pray for the Bishop and the Cardinal.
