This Sunday’s Gospel : EMMANUEL
This is how Jesus Christ came to be born. His mother Mary was betrothed to Joseph; but before they came
to live together she was found to be with child through the Holy Spirit. Her husband Joseph, being a man of honour
and wanting to spare her publicity, decided to divorce her informally. He had made up his mind to do this when the
angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream, and said, ‘Joseph son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary home
as your wife, because she has conceived what is in her by the Holy Spirit. She will give birth to a son and you must
name him Jesus, because he is the one who is to save his people from their sins.’ Now all this took place to fulfil the
words spoken by the Lord through the prophet: “The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son and they will call
him Emmanuel”, a name which means ‘God-is-with-us’. When Joseph woke up he did what the angel of the Lord
had told him to do: he took his wife to his home.

A Jolly Christmas Lunch

A lovely Christmas lunch was shared with all the children this week. Children were served by all the staff and enjoyed christmas crackers that were kindly donated by the Friends of St John’s.  It was made extra festive as all were wearing their Christmas jumpers to raise funds for our link school in Kenya, St Benedict’s. The children raised an outstanding final total of £311.46. Thank you so much for supporting this cause. We know it will truely make a difference in the lives and education of the children of St Benedict’s. Thank you also to Mrs Curtis who as ever, organsied a super event.

Friends of St John’s (A big thank you from all at school!)

A big thank you to the Friends and community that support them for organsing and funding the Panto to come into school at the end of term. It was great fun and very loud! The children loved the interactions and acting roles that they were involved in it.

We are so lucky to have such a proactive team that work so hard for our children and school.
