Adapted from Luke 23:35-43
The people stayed there before the crosswatching Jesus. As for the leaders, they jeered at him. “He saved others,” they said, “let him save himself if he is the Christ of God, the Chosen One.” The soldiers mocked him too, and when they approached to offer him vinegar they said, “If you are the King of the Jews, save yourself.” Above him there was an inscription: ‘This is the King of the Jews.’ One of the criminals hanging there abused him. “Are you not the Christ?” he said. “Save yourself and us as well.” But the other spoke up and rebuked him. “Have you no fear of God at all?” he said. “You received the
same sentence as he did, but in our case we deserved it: we are paying for what we did. But this man has done nothing wrong. Jesus,” he said, “remember
me when you come into your kingdom.” “Indeed, I promise you,” Jesus replied, “today you will be with me in paradise.”

With Mrs Charlton due back from maternity leave soon, we sadly need to say goodbye to Mrs B. Mrs B has been an invaluble member of the office team and has been instramental in the design and launch of our new website and roll out of our parental communication move to MCAS. Mrs B has also been our midday meals superviser and supported children and staff during lunchtimes. She will be very missed in school as she has become such a valued team member. Mrs B is moving to take on a new role at QEII which we know she will be brilliant at. We send our warm thanks and appreciations to her.
Please bare with the office during the transition as there is a period where SLT will be bridging the gap before Mrs Charlton returns after Christmas.

Friends of St John’s
What a fantastic week we’ve had!
Thank you so much for the incredible generosity shown with donations for the Christmas Fair. We’re now busy planning stalls and putting together some amazing raffle hampers.
We hope the children enjoyed their non-uniform day, and a huge thank you to the volunteers who braved the cold to collect and store all those donations!
Our recent movie night was a big success—they even managed to watch two films! Thank you to all the parents and carers who helped make this possible. We raised £315 (before expenses)—a great result!
Christmas Fair Volunteers Needed
A big thank you to those who have already signed up, helping us with donations/prizes and putting hampers together.
We previously asked for 8 volunteers per class to cover 30-minute slots on their class stall. Unfortunately, we haven’t had enough people come forward yet.
Please consider supporting your child’s class and the school so we can put on a fantastic Christmas Fair for the children and raise funds for much-needed resources for the year ahead.
If we don’t get enough helpers, some stalls will have to be cancelled. Please reach out to one of the Friends or the rep in your class group.
Thank you
