St John the Evangelist – our local parish

We believe that the education of children takes place at home, in school and in the local Catholic community. We are privileged to serve the local parish of St. John the Evangelist.  St John’s has been at the heart of the town in Springfield Road since its foundation in 1865. The present church was begun in 1917 and completed by Christmas 1919. St. John’s clergy are Father Aaron Spinelli and Deacon Tom Murray.

We are very lucky to have regular contact with our clergy with Father Aaron visiting us every Tuesday afternoon at 2pm. He will be available to talk to parents at the end of school on Tuesdays – you will be able to find him on the playgrounds.

It is a joy to watch our children as they learn more about their faith through the process of taking their First Holy Communion and we support the celebrations within school in a variety of ways. We also gather with other parishes in the diocese when we celebrate the annual Good Shepherd Mass at Worth Abbey.
